The Sandbank Escape (Full Day Tour)

This is a relaxing day trip on either a traditional dhow (luxury private cruise) or a local motorboat with sunscreen (private local option). We are leaving from Stone Town's seafront (either in front of Tembo Hotel or Forodhani Garden) for Prison Island, locally known as Changuu Island. There you will visit the ruins of the prison building and the giant Aldabra tortoises - a present from the governor of the Seychelles to Sultan Khalifa bin Haroub in 1919. You will have time to snorkel at the coral garden of Bawe Island before we are setting off again to the Nyange sandbank, which is quite far and therefore off the beaten track, and surrounded by a colourful coral reef. On the way breakfast with ginger-spiced tea and juices, homemade bread and seasonal fruits will be served during the luxury option. Lounge and relax on the sparkling white sandbank, get a nice tan and enjoy the wonderful clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean. On the sandbank, a Swahili style buffet lunch & seafood BBQ will be served with non-alcoholic drinks. Italian cheese and white wine will be offered in addition when choosing the shared luxury option.

Depending on the tides, start (best) at 8 am and return between 4 and 7 pm.Including private guide throughout the day, light breakfast, entrance fees at Prison Island tortoise sanctuary, Swahili style buffet lunch & seafood BBQ, non-alcoholic drinks.
